Playschemes Winsford Summer 2019
Winsford Youth and Community Forum are pleased to announce their continued involvement in providing Playschemes over the summer holiday period. We have provided these activities since 1989 in support of the local Winsford community.
Sessions for 2019 are completely free, due to the kind support of our sponsors namely:
- Winsford Town Council
- Police Commissioner
- Darnell Trust
- BBC Children in Need
Also supported by ASDA, the police and Weaver Vale Housing Trust.
Playschemes are designed for children ages 8 – 12 years old, to become involved in a range of different experiences and activities in an informal setting to enhance their skills, knowledge, confidence and understanding to help them grow as a person. The informal setting allows them to make many new friends whilst having lots of fun.
Our Playschemes will be run from two locations, namely Wharton Community Library and New Images Youth Centre and we anticipate group sizes will not exceed 50 children. The Playscheme Sessions will run daily from 10am – 3pm. This will include free of charge, a light nutritional lunch.
Playschemes are carefully managed by our Play lead Coordinator, who is supported by a network of Play Workers. As expected all our staff are carefully trained and full DBS checks completed, full details of our statutory duties and insurance are given under the documents section of our website.
The time tables of the Playscheme sessions will be in a structured format and activities will include some of the following:
- Arts and crafts
- Creative drawing
- Talent shows
Various sporting activities such as:
- Outdoor activities such as, rounders, cricket and more
- Various team sports
On occasion we have been able to offer Playscheme sessions off site, notably canoeing, treasure hunts and park visits.
In conclusion these Playscheme sessions are a great way to keep young children engaged over the summer keeping them in a safe learning environment, whilst having lots of fun.
