Breaking News – Lottery Funding

Staff, Volunteers, Service Users, Trustees & Councillors receiving Lottery cheque from The National Lottery

We are delighted to announce that Winsford Youth & Community Forum have been awarded a Lottery funding grant, in the sum of £258,011 over a 5 year period. Initially this will allow us to employee a centre manager together with an administrator position. These funds will also be utilised in upgrading various aspects of the buildings electrical services, which are urgently required as well as providing funding for additional running costs for the centre.

These new staff roles will allow us to build upon the tremendous success that has been achieved by our team and provide the additional resources required in managing the numerous funding opportunities available to us, whilst freeing up existing staff to focus on the day to day running of the centres.

The new full time post job description is still being discussed and will be made public in early February. Please visit our website during the first week in March for further details and application information.

The award of this grant allows us to pursue additional funding specific to the repair and refurbishment of the existing New Images Youth & Community Centre which is desperately needed.

Winsford Community Grocery

New Images are pleased to be associated with Winsford Community Grocery, this is a great new initiative involving the collection and re-distribution of surplus food. The cost will be just £3, please ensure you fetch your own bag. Distribution of all food (subject to availability) will take place at New Images, Nixon Drive, Winsford every Tuesday from February 4th 2020 between 10.30 AM – 12.30 PM.

Break Dancing

New Images are pleased to be hosting break dancing lessons. These will commence on the evening of Monday 3rd between 5 & 6 PM. These sessions are for persons between 6 and 13 years of age and all abilities are welcome. The cost will be £3.50 per session this is on a pay as you go basis.

It is worth noting break dancing will feature as part of the 2024 Olympics and will be part of the school syllabus in the future.

Play Day

We are pleased to announce another Playday from 10 am to 3 pm on Wednesday 19th February. This is for 8 to 12 year olds and provides a fun and safe learning environment. Admission will be £1 including refreshments and will be located at New Images, Youth & Community Centre, Nixon Drive, Winsford. This event is part of the Play Schemes initiative which is fully detailed in the Play Schemes section of our website.

Table tennis at New Images

New for this autumn/winter every Thursday ( subject to staffing ) from 11 am – 1pm is our Social Table Tennis sessions. Aimed at adults of all ages looking for an easy, stress free exercise routine, played at your pace, for novices, able and skilled players Please refer to the calendar for available dates. Precious Memories Open Day

2019 is the 50th Anniversary of the Opening of New Images – to help us celebrate and record the past, we held our Open Day on Saturday 28th Sept as a family event from 11 – 4pm, followed at night by one ourBand nights , which included 3 bands, and two other acts. The aim throughout the day was to collect memories from all ex users to use to highlight the impact that the centre has had on Winsford. Visually we can now share many of the photos collected over those 50 years, directly via this website and indirectly by present users, via two dedicated T.V`s and our photo display

Xmas Parties

One planned for the Chatterbox Cafe for the 17th December from 10 – 1pm with music live music supplied by the returning Band edge Resurrected group. Xmas lunch has to be pre booked via 01606 593724 ( limited places )

Junior club party will be on the 20th December from and the Senior party on the 21/12 both from 7 – 9pm both with a bucking bronco ride.

Chatterbox Cafe and Techno Cafe Update

Further funding has also been received from Anne Duchess of Westminster`s Charity to compliment and improve the Chatterbox Cafe, furniture and fittings etc. Meanwhile a second grant was approved vis Cheshire Voluntary Action to replace, add new equipment to the kitchen.

The Techno Cafe for the 13 plus continues most Tuesdays – equipment for this continues to be collected. To date we have two V.R systems and a 3 screen driving simulator. On most Tuesdays during school term time form 3.30 – 6pm


Our A.G.M will take place on Friday 22nd November at New Images for all Partners at 2pm. At which the Annual Report and Financial Accounts will be presented.
